Taroko National Park Headquarters Urges the Public to Jointly Protect the Alpine Ecological Environment. Rock Climbing at Wuling Will Be Subject to Stricter Inspections and Enforcement.

Provincial Highway 14A (31.4km Wuling to 32.7km Songxue Lodge) Starting from 7:00 a.m. today (Jan. 22), vehicles are required to be equipped with snow chains to pass this section. Traffic control measures will be adjusted flexibly based on on-site conditions.

Roads closure due to the snow: Provincial Highway 14A: from 18 km Cuifeng to 41.5 km Dayuling and Provincial Highway 8: from 107 km to 110 km (Dayuling section)

Due to the influence of a continental cold air mass, road surfaces on high-mountain roads have become icy. On Provincial Highway 14A, the section from Kunyang (29K) to Songxuelou (33K) will be restricted to vehicles equipped with snow chains only starting from 9:00 a.m. today (Jan. 8). (Traffic control measures will be adjusted flexibly based on on-site conditions.)

Announcement: Effective from 00:00 on October 23, 2025, a portion of the area within this office's park will be partially reopened.

The risk of rockfalls and mudslides along Provincial Highway 8 remains high. If entry is necessary , please carefully assess the risks and ensure your safety.

There will be slope stabilization work conducted at Taroko’s Shakadang, Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine Turns, and Lushui Trails from October 16-25, 2023. Please pay attention to construction restrictions and safety measures.
