Mt. Hehuan Main Peak Trail Viewing Platforms Reopen to the Public
To enhance visitor experiences, the Taroko N. P. HQ has carried out improvement works on the Mt. Hehuan Main Peak Trail and its surrounding facilities. The main trail was reopened to hikers in October 2025. The improvement works on the three viewing platforms along the trail have now been completed and will officially reopen on June 4. Visitors are welcome to hike the trail and enjoy the magnificent alpine scenery.
With the Dragon Boat Festival holiday and summer vacation approaching, visitors can hike from the trailhead to the summit marker of Mt. Hehuan Main Peak. Along the way, they may take advantage of the viewing platforms for short breaks while enjoying panoramic mountain views and the beauty of Taiwan’s high-altitude landscapes.
To protect the alpine environment and ensure visitor safety, the Taroko N. P. HQ reminds visitors of the following:
• Pets are not allowed on the trail.
• Bicycles and motorcycles are prohibited within the trail area.
• Please stay on designated trails and do not take shortcuts.
• Please carry all trash back down the mountain.
• Weather conditions in spring and summer can change rapidly. Please bring warm clothing. If symptoms of altitude sickness or physical discomfort occur, descend immediately.
Construction and maintenance of facilities in high mountain areas are challenging. Visitors are encouraged to cherish and properly use these facilities, help protect natural resources, and comply with the regulations of the National Park Act.
