Starting April 28, 2026, applications are open for two new routes in the Ecological Protection Area: the "Mt. Qilai North Peak/Pingfeng Mountain Route" and the "Pingfeng Mountain Route".

1. Mt. Qilai North Peak-Pingfeng Mountain Route: This route shares the total capacity quota with the "Mt. Qilai Main/North Peaks Route" and the "Mt. Qilai Range". Applicants may apply for mountain huts and campsites along the trail. Starting April 28, 2026, all hikers planning the route formerly known as "Mt. Qilai North Wall descending to Pingfeng Mountain" must apply via this new route. Applications for the "Mt. Qilai North Wall" route will no longer be accepted under the "Other (Qilai Mountains" Route category.

2. Pingfeng Mountain Route:

(1) Applications are accepted for itineraries ranging from 1 to 3 days.
(2) Due to the impact of pine wilt disease in the area surrounding the Pingfeng Cabin, campsites are temporarily unavailable. We will continue to review and potentially increase capacity or reopen campsites based on the effectiveness of pest control efforts. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
3. For teams already approved under the "Other (Qilai Mountains" Route who have received permission to camp near the Pingfeng Cabin : with the exception of restricted areas, this office hereby grants principle approval for these teams to enter the park according to their original planned itineraries.
