Provincial Highway 14A (31.4km Wuling to 32.7km Songxue Lodge) Starting from 7:00 a.m. today (Jan. 22), vehicles are required to be equipped with snow chains to pass this section. Traffic control measures will be adjusted flexibly based on on-site conditions.
Forwarded from the Central Region Maintenance Branch, Highway Bureau – Traffic Management and Control Center
Due to cold weather conditions, preemptive road closures were implemented last night (Jan. 21) on the following sections:
Provincial Highway 14A: 18 km Cuifeng to 41.5 km Dayuling
Provincial Highway 8: 107 km to 110 km Dayuling
After on-site inspections by Highway Bureau personnel, it was found that some sections of Provincial Highway 14A between 31.4km (Wuling) and 32.7km (Songxue Lodge) still have icy and snow-covered road shoulders that have not yet melted. Therefore, starting from 7:00 a.m. today (Jan. 22), traffic is restricted to vehicles
with snow chains, and control measures will be adjusted flexibly according to ice-melting conditions on site.
To ensure road user safety, the Highway Bureau will conduct snow removal operations on controlled sections based on snow accumulation conditions. During operations, short-term two-way road closures may be implemented (subject to on-site conditions). Road users are requested to follow the instructions of traffic control personnel.
Road users planning to travel on Provincial Highways 8 and 14A are advised that mountain road conditions during the snow season are difficult to predict. Unless absolutely necessary, please avoid traveling. Before departure, ensure that personal equipment and vehicle snow chains are properly prepared, closely monitor weather forecasts and traffic information, and plan alternative travel routes in advance.
