Mt. Hehuan Main Peak Trail Partially Reopens in October; Viewing Platforms Remain Closed

After extensive restoration work, the Taroko National Park Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the Taroko N. P. HQ) has assessed and decided to partially reopen the Mt. Hehuan Main Peak Trail starting from October 15, 2025 for trial hiking. However, the three viewing platforms along the trail will remain closed for continued facility improvements.

Visitors may hike from the trailhead to the triangulation point of Mt. Hehuan Main Peak. Since the viewing platforms are still under improvement, entry into the platform areas is prohibited for safety reasons. The Taroko N. P. HQ also reminds visitors to protect the alpine environment by staying on the designated trail, avoiding shortcuts, and refraining from entering the trail with bicycles or motorcycles.
