Taiwan Provincial Highway 8 (Central Cross-Island Highway) will be closed for a disaster prevention drill from 10:00 to 12:00 on March 22nd.

With the flood season approaching, the Taroko maintenance Division office of The Eastern Region Branch Office Highway Bureau aims to enhance the highway's disaster prevention and rescue capabilities. It is scheduled that on March 22nd, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a disaster prevention and rescue drill will be conducted at Jiuqudong Tunnel 172.3km section of Provincial Highway 8, Central Cross-Island Highway.

 

During this period, the section of Provincial Highway 8 from Heliu (170 km) to Biluowan (178 km) will be closed for two-way traffic (traffic control or release will be implemented according to the progress of the drill). Travelers are advised to plan their trips in advance. If you pass through this section at that time, please cooperate with the on-site personnel's traffic control instructions. We apologize for any inconvenience caused during the drill.
