These two trails are connected. Start from the Park HQ through Xiaozhuilu to Wujianwu (5D Cabin) of Shakadang trail altogether is about 5.6 km/ 1.5 to 2 hours hiking time. Please go to our Taroko Visitor Center service counter and request for a brochure and the detail map of these two trails. Or consult our website for details, please click Tourism Info> Trails
Due to the Taroko Gorge Music Festival traffic control on Taroko Terrace (the Park Headquarters) on 22 October 2022, the three bus companies: Taiwan Trip Ubus #310 (run by United Bus Co.) , Hualien Bus #1133 (run by Hualien Bus Co.) bus and Taroko Bus #302 (run by Taroko bus company ) will not make stops for both Taroko National Park Headquarters Visitor Center and Shakadang trail. We would suggest you that you walk about 10 minutes to “ Taroko” bus stop (near the Taroko Arch and one stop ahead of Taroko National Park HQ Visitor Center) to take a bus to tour Taroko gorge such as Swallow Grotto trail (Yanzikou trail)and Tunnel of Nine Turns Trail (Jioqudong), Tianxiang, etc.
