Trail closure for the construction work at Shakadang trail

To strengthen tourist safety, Taroko National Park Headquarters will be conducting railing renewal projects and land/rock slides prevention works for Shakadang and Eternal Spring Shrine trails. Tourists are advised to take notice of these closures and obey the control measures. In addition, the Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) Trail will be conducting a restroom renovation project. Mobile toilets will be temporarily offered for tourists at Jinheng Park on the Swallow Grotto trail. Please abide by the control measures and follow the instructions of on-site personnel.

 The construction work is as follows:

 

  1. April 6, 2021 (Tuesday) – May 14, 2021 (Friday) –The entire Shakadang trail will be temporarily closed during this period for the railing renewal projects.
  2. March 30, 2021 (Tuesday) – May 25, 2021 (Tuesday) – During this period, the trail between the 3 Buddhas (Mituoyan) and to Changchun Shrine (Eternal Spring Shrine) will be temporarily closed for the rockfall prevention shelters and railing installation projects.
  3. March 30, 2021 (Tuesday) – April 25, 2021 (Tuesday) – During this period, the restroom at Jinheng Park will be temporarily closed for repairs. Mobile toilets will be temporarily erected for tourists at Jinheng Park on the Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) trail.

 

Taroko National Park Headquarters requests that tourists cooperate with the measures listed above and follow on-site construction personnel's instructions. In the case of inclement weather, the construction periods may be altered or postponed; if so, the Park Headquarters will announce any changes on the official park website.
