Hehuan, it will be temporarily closed from April 22nd, 2024 to August 18th, 2024 for the trail pavement improvement project.
According to the Taroko National Park Headquarters, the trail surface of the main peak of Hepuan Mountain is damaged, with severe erosion on the slopes, and some of the facilities have been damaged, so in order to improve the safety and quality of recreation, an improvement project will be carried out. As the weather and temperature fluctuation in the Hehuan Mountain area is extremely large throughout the year, the construction work is greatly affected by the weather, especially during the snowy season, which is even more difficult. Therefore, the improvement works will be carried out in spring and summer when the weather is more stable, and after the completion of the works, the trails and facilities will be of better quality for the public.
From April to May each year, Hehuan Mountain area of Yushan Rhododendron and Taiwan Rhododendron in full bloom in order, because the main peak of Hehuan Mountain is closed, the Taroko National Park Headquarters recommends that the flower-loving public can turn to Shimen Mountain, Mt. Hehuan East Peak and Xiaoqilai Trail, you can also enjoy the full of Yushan Rhododendron, in mid- to late May, Mt. Hehuan North Peak of the delicate and beautiful Taiwan Rhododendron will be in full bloom, you can also enjoy a different kind of scenery.
