At the 1.7 km mark near the exit of the fourth tunnel, instability in the geological conditions has led to higher rock weathering, making it prone to falling rocks. Red warning ropes, cones, and reminder signs are installed on-site. Visitors passing through this area are advised to pass quickly without stopping for photographs.

While visiting Baiyang Trail, it is recommended to wear a safety helmet and be attentive to the surroundings for personal safety.

Safety helmets are available for free borrowing at the Taroko Visitor Center, Xipan Service Station, and Tianxiang Service Station. Helmets can be returned at any of the service stations. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this service.
