The #302 bus increases more buses daily from October 21, 2023.  The TaiwanTrip 310 Ubus only provides bus service from Hualien station to Taroko Visitor Center.

Due to the Xipan Dam section at 179.5km highway marker on Provincial Highway 8 the serious landslide road emergency repair work, Taroko 302 Bus is available between Taroko National Park Headquarters visitor center and Tianxiang.

Buses Service (Note: bus arrival time will be affected by the road construction traffice controls.) 

A: The Taroko #302 ebus provides service from Xincheng railway station via (Taroko National Park Headquarters visitor center) to Tianxiang and then return to Xincheng railway station. The Taroko bus company states that #302 bus fare between Shakadang and Changchun Shrine (Eternal Spring Shrine) section is free of charge. Please notice that weekday (Mon.-Fri.) and weekend bus timetables are different. Notice: Taroko #302 bus does not provide bus service to Buluowan. 

Starting from October 21, 2023, Taroko 302 bus timetalbe is as follows:

Xincheng (Taroko) TRA station> Tianxiang (Outbound)

9:00, 11:00, 11:30, 13:00, 1330, 15:00

Tianxiang> Xincheng (Taroko) TRA station (Inbound)

11:00, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00

Weekends and Public Holidays

TRA Xincheng (Taroko) station> Tianxiang (Outbound)

9:00, 9:30, 11:00, 11:30, 13:00, 1330, 14:30, 15:00

Tianxiang> TRA Xincheng (Taroko) station (Inbound)

11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:00, 16:30, 17:00

 

B Hualien #1133 bus provides service from Hualien railway station via Taroko National Park Headquarters to Tianxiang. Two buses daily only. The Hualien #1133 bus will stop at Buluowan for bus from Hualien station bound for Tianxiang but the bus services do not stop at Buluowan from Tianxiang bound for Hualien railway station.

C: TaiwanTrip Ubus #310 provide service from Hualien railway station via Xincheng railway station to Taroko National Park Headquarters visitor center only. TaiwanTrip Ubus #310 Bus do NOT provide bus services between Taroko National Park Headquarters visitor center and Tianxiang at the moment.

Please use app download iBus app to check the bus timetables. 
The bus fare can be paid by cash (exact change only) or via Taipei Metro EasyCard, iPass, or iCash card to the bus driver. No change will be provided. Make sure you have exact change for the bus fare.  Please fill up enough money for your electronic card (the abovementioned payment cards) at Taipei Metro station or anyone of railway stations in Taiwan.

 

Notice to road users:

Due to the Xipan Dame road section emergency repair work on Provincial Highway 8, the passage will be 5 times every day.

The Eastern Region Branch Office Highway Bureau, MOTC (Taroko Works Division) is responsible for the maintenance of road safety within Taroko National Park.

The Provincial Highway 8 at 179.5 km (Xipan Dam section) highway marker for the road landslide emergency repair construction work, due to the July 27, 2023 Typhoon serious landslide damage.

Traffic Control Time: 8:30 am – 17:00 pm

Control Period: October 11, 2023 – December 31, 2023

Five Passage Time Daily: (1) 10:00 am passage once, (2) 11:30 – 12:30, (3) 14:00 passage once, (4) 15:30 passage once, (5) 17:00- the second morning 8:30 am (road open at night)

Open for one direction of traffic once at a time for both directions traffic. Please follow the on-site personnel instruction.

 

Please wait patiently and arrive earlier at the control point before the passage time. Please cooperate, drive carefully and pass sequentially; the emergency repair team also reminds drivers that the disaster road section is still in the emergency repair stage. In addition, if it is affected by unexpected conditions or typhoons, heavy rains, earthquakes and other weather conditions, emergency road closures (including road closure control at night), it will not be ruled out if necessary to ensure road users safety. Open for one direction of traffic once at a time for both directions traffic. Please follow the on-site personnel instruction.

 

East to west: The east entrance from Taroko Arch Gate at 184.5 km highway marker to the traffic control point at 179.5 km Baisha No. 2 Bridge (Xipan Dam section) is about 5 km / about 8 minutes by car.

West to east: The west from Tianxiang at 167.6 km to the traffic control point at 179.5 km (Xipan Dam section) is about 11.9 km / about 20 minutes by car.
