Taroko National Park Headquarters has scheduled slope stabilization work to improve Park safety on Shakadang, Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou), Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong), and Lushui Trails. Therefore, these sections of trails will be closed. Please take note and abide by these control measures.
Details of trail closure are as follows:
1. Shakadang Trail will be closed from October 17, 2023 – October 20, 2023.
2. Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) Trail will be closed from October 16, 2023 – October 25, 2023.
3. The Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong) Trail will have fixed-point work conducted from October 16, 2023 to October 17, 2023. Please pay attention to safety and proceed as quickly as possible. (The Trail is open.)
4. Lushui Trail: Contraction work will be carried out from October 16, 2023 – October 20, 2023. (Lushui trail is closed). The road section from 169.5 km to 169.7 km of the Provincial Highway 8 (Central Cross-Island Highway) will be subject to motorized traffic control from October 16, 2023 to October 20, 2023. The highway 8 traffic passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction progress.
Taroko National Park Headquarters requests visitors to cooperate with trail closures and construction restrictions. If the construction period is extended or altered due to weather conditions, any further information will be announced accordingly on this website.
