Subject: Amendment to point 6 of Activity Regulations in Taroko National Park regarding prohibited cooking locations has passed.

Announcement:

1. After the application for the Park Entry Permit of the Protection Areas is approved, each mountaineering route in the Ecological Protection Areas of Taroko National Park has designated locations for cooking. 

 

(1) Mt. Qilai (Main/North Peak, Range from North to South Peaks, South Peak, East Ridge):

Heishuitang Mountain Cabin and the surrounding Campground, Chenggong Mountain Cabin (including Chenggong No. 2 mountain cabin) and its surrounding Campground, Qilai Mountain Cabin and its surrounding Campground, Kaxi Mountain Cabin Remnant, Kadong Mountain Cabin Remnant, Qilai South Peak Mountain Trailhead Campground, Qilai North Peak Lower Base Campground, Moon Shape Pool Campground, Magnificent Pool Campground, Mt. Panshi Middle Peak Campground, Tiexian Cliff Campground, Upper and Lower Bunk Campground, Mt. Tarokoda Bei'an (north saddle) Junction Campground, Ping'an Pool Campground, Marble Campground, Dry Pool Campground, Junction Campground, 12 km Worker's Hut on Yanhai Forest Road and its surrounding Campground, 9 km Worker's Hut on Yanhai Forest Road and its surrounding Campground..

(2) Nanhu (out-and-back to Nanhu Cabin, North Section 1):

Duojiatun Mountain Cabin and its surrounding Campground, Yunleng Mountain Cabin and its surrounding Campground, Shenmazhen Mountain Cabin and its surrounding Campground, Nanhu Mountain Cabin and its surrounding Campground, Stone Cave Hunting Campground, Zhongyangjian Mountain Cabin and its surrounding Campground, Nanhu River Mountain Cabin and surrounding Campground.

(3) North Section 2 (the Ghost Gate cliff) (Y-route, Mt. Shuan/Mt. Lingming, Mt. Shuan Day Ascent), Mt. Shu/Mt. Lingming, Mt. Shushan Day Ascend, the traverse between North Sections 1 and 2:

730 Forest Road 23.5 km Mt. Shushan Trailhead Campground, 730 Forest Road 25 km Worker's Hut and its surrounding Campground, Mt. Lingming East Saddle Campground, Mt. Wuming West Peak Campground, Wuming Pond Campground, Mt. Ganzhu South Peak Junction Campground, Erwu River Campground, Sky Campground, Zhongyangjian West Peak Saddle Campground, Mt. Ganshu Southeast Saddle Campground.

(4) Mt. Qingshui: The First Water Source Camp, The Last Water Source Camp.

(5) Mt. Bilu: Mt. Yangtou Day Ascent, Mt. Bilu/Mt. Yangtou:

820 Forest Road 8.2 km Worker's Hut and its surrounding Campground, Mt. Bilu Trailhead Campground, Mt. Bilu Main Peak Junction Campground, Mt. Ju East Peak Campground, Mt. Ju East Refuge Hut and its surrounding Campground.

(6) Other routes:

When applying for the park entry permit for the ecological protection area of the Taroko National Park, upload an itinerary plan, and explain the daily camping and cooking locations and methods for review.

 

2. In all above mentioned ecological protection area in Taroko National Park, only Heliu and Lushui campgrounds are open to simple cooking activities. Other areas are prohibited from such activities, and offenders will be punished according to law.

 

3. Those who are permitted to engage in simple cooking should always pay attention to fire and personal safety.
