Chinese New Year Holiday February 2-4, 2022 (2nd to 4th day of Chinese New Year)- The Provincial Highway 8 (Central Cross-Island Highway traffic control info)

During Lunar Chinese New Year 2022, in coordination with the operation of a free park shuttle bus service, the traffic controls are in effect on the Provincial Highway 8.
Traffic Control Area: from 185.4 km (Taroko) to 167.1 km (Tianxiang) on the Provincial Highway 8 and the Provincial Highway 9 old road section between north of Taroko Bridge to north of Jinwen bridge.

Taroko to Tianxiang: The control period: 07:00am – 15:00 February 2-4, 2022
Passage Time: Every 2 hour (even hour) on the hour for 10 minutes (e.g.: 08:00 am-08:10 am, 10:00 am-10:10 am, 12:00 pm-12:10 pm, 2:00 pm-2:10 pm) During the traffic control, no cars are allowed to enter except for the Mt. Hehuan area snow condition then it will depend on the snowy weather to reopen the traffic.
Tianxiang to Taroko: The control period: 07:00am – 15:30 February 2-4, 2022
Passage Time: Every 2 hour (odd hour) on the hour for 10 minutes (e.g.: 09:00 am-09:10 am, 11:00 am-11:10 am, 1:00 pm-1:10 pm, 3:00 pm-3:10 pm)
The traffic from Tianxiang to Taroko (the west bound for the east): The Traffic control time: 07:00- 15:30.

Control item:
A: The control section only allowed for the shuttle buses, the regular daily run buses, and the Midsize buses or 40-sitter buses to enter with the entry permit cards, other than above mentioned four-wheeled cars are not allowed to enter from Taroko to Tianxiang section during the control period.
B: Local residents (including residents of Fushi Village west of the control point), workers in the control area, highway maintenance unit personnel and emergency repair cars, please bring the ID for checking and then pass.
C: The tourists stayed at the traffic control section B&B, hotels or hostel, please show the reservation document or proof document for checking. The passage time will be according to abovementioned (1) or (2) for both directions’ traffic.
D: During the traffic control period, midsize buses or 40-sitter buses are accessible for 40 buses each at a time. Please go to Xincheng railway station to apply from Taroko National Park on-site handling staff to get the entry permit card. Use any of identifications to change the entry permit card to enter the gorge.

Take the Free Shuttle Bus info:
A: Tarok National Park Hedquarters will provide free shuttle bus services during February 2-4, 2022 (2nd to 4th day of Lunar Chinese New Year) for Provincial Highway 8 Taroko to Tianxiang section.
B: The visitors driving their own cars, for business running or rental cars, please proceed to Xincheng railway station to take the free shuttle bus at km 184 on the Provincial Highway 9. Visitors taking trains or buses: Please get off the train or bus at Xincheng railway station and then transfer the free shuttle bus to enter Taroko gorge (buses bound for Taroko National Park Headquarters Visitor Center, Buluowan, and Tianxiang).
