If you arrive to Taroko National Park headquarters, we recommend that before the morning session (9:00 am -10:30 am) or the afternoon session (noon break 12:00 pm – 14:00 pm) begins, you take the opportunity to visist the the nearest two trails: Xiaozhuilu and Shakadang trail. These two trails are connected. Starting from the Park headquarters and walking from Xiaozhuilu to Wujianwu (5D Cabin) of Shakadang trail is about 5.6 km / approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Please go to our Taroko Visitor Center service counter and request for a brochure and the detailed map of these two trails. Or consult our website for details by clicking Tourism Info> Trails.

Due to the Taroko Gorge Music Festival traffic control on Taroko Terrace (the Park Headquarters) on October 24, 2020, the two bus companies: Taiwan Trip #1133A and #1133 (run by Hualien Bus Company) bus and Taroko Bus Company #302 bus will not make stops at both Taroko National Park Headquarters Visitor Center and Shakadang trail. We suggest for you could walk about 10 minutes to “ Taroko” bus stop (near the Taroko Arch and one stop ahead of Taroko National Park Headquarters) to take a bus to tour other Taroko Gorge locations such as Swallow Grotto trail (Yanzikou trail) and the Tunnel of Nine Turns Trail (Jiuqudong), Baiyang trail, Tianxiang etc.
