Summary of changes made to admission fees for Zhuilu Old Road in Taroko National Park

The admission fees for Zhuilu Old Road in Taroko National Park were last published on February 17th 2017 and implemented on March 16th 2017. In accordance with Article 11, Item 2 of the Charges and Fees Act, a review should be conducted at least once every three years. The latest review concerns the description of recreation areas as defined by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. As Zhuilu Old Road meets the criteria for a recreation area, amendments were proposed based on Article 25 of the Elderly Welfare Law and Article 59 of the Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Persons with Disabilities. The amendments are summarised as follows:

1. The addition of Item 1.3 to Article 2, Section 2, which enables persons over 65 years of age to a 50% preferential discount;

2. The addition of Item 2.3 to Article 2, Section 2, which waives fees for those with physical and mental disabilities along with one necessary companion;

3. The amendment of the implementation date to Article 3.


 

Changes made to admission fees for Zhuilu Old Road in Taroko National Park

Article 1      The standard fee system is formulated in accordance with Article 10, Item 1 of the Charges and Fees Act.

Article 2      The fees for Zhuilu Old Road in Taroko National Park go towards facility use and environmental maintenance, and are as follows:

I.    Ordinary tourists: NT $200 per person.

II.   Discounts for Taiwanese citizens with proof of National Identification Card and/or other relevant documents:

    • 50% discount:

(1)Children between 6 and 12 years of age

(2)Students

(3)Persons over 65 years of age

    • Free admission:

(1)Children under the age of 6

(2)Mountain rescue and disaster response personnel

(3)Persons with physical and mental disabilities each accompanied by one necessary companion

III.        Foreign students attending either public/private schools in Taiwan at all levels are entitled to 50% discount.

Article 3      The standard fees shall come into effect starting from the date of this announcement.
