Swallow Grotto Trail closed May 27 – June 2 2020 due to removal of rockfall prevention structures

To improve the safety of tourists visiting Taroko National Park, the Taroko National Park Headquarters has implemented rockfall protection measures at Yanzikou (Swallow Grotto) trail. Civil engineering works have now been completed and the temporary rockfall prevention canopy will now need to be removed. Engineers are expected to dismantle the temporary rockfall canopy from May 27 to June 2, 2020, and as such the Yanzikou trail will be temporarily closed during this construction period. Tourists are advised to take notice of this closure and cooperate with the control measures.

The Taroko National Park Headquarters recommends that tourists visiting Taroko Gorge can instead visit the Jiuqudong (Tunnel of Nine Turns) trail or other recreation areas whilst the Yanzikou trail is closed. If the construction period will need to be extended or moved due to weather, the Park Headquarters will post a separate announcement via the official website.
