Chinese New Year Holiday January 26-28 (2nd to 4th day of Chinese New Year)- The Provincial Highway 8- Central Cross-Island Highway traffic control info

Free Shuttle Bus Provided- Taroko National Park Facilities Will Open Early

 

 

During Lunar Chinese New Year 2020, in coordination with the operation of a free park shuttle bus service, the traffic controls are in effect on the Provincial Highway 8.

Traffic Control Area: from km 186.5(Taroko) to km 168.5(Tianxiang) on the Provincial Highway 8 and the Provincial Highway 9 old road section to north of Jinwen bridge.
(1)Taroko to Tianxiang: The control period: 07:00am – 15:00 January 26-28, 2020
Departure time may be changed if snow falls in the Mt. Hehuan area.

(2) Tianxiang to Taroko: The control period: 07:00am – 15:30 January 26-28, 2020

During the traffic control, no cars are allowed to enter.

 

The traffic from Tianxiang bound for Taroko (the west bound for the east): The Traffic control time: 07:00- 15:30. The passage will open once during the traffic control period every day at 11:30am for 30 minutes. The passage cars are not allowed to stop any car park on Provincial Highway 8.  

Control item:

A: The control section only allowed for the shuttle buses, the regular daily run buses, and 20-sitter or 40-sitter buses to enter, other than above mentioned four-wheeled cars are not allowed to enter from Taroko to Tianxiang section.

B: Local residents, workers, highway maintenance unit personnel and emergency repair cars, please bring the ID for checking and then pass.

C: The tourists stayed at the traffic control section B&B, hotels or hostel, please show the reservation document or proof document for checking. The passage time will be after 12:00pm.

D: During the traffic control period, the 20-sitter or 40-sitter buses are accessible for 80 buses each at a time. Please go to Xincheng train station to apply from Taroko National Park on-site handling staff to get the entry permit card. Use any of identifications to change the entry permit card to enter the gorge.

Take the Free Shuttle Bus info:

A: Tarok National Park Headquarters will provide free shuttle bus services during January 26-28, 2020(2nd to 4th day of Lunar Chinese New Year) for Provincial highway 8 Taroko to Tianxiang section.

B: The visitors driving their own cars, for business running or rental cars, please proceed to Xincheng railway station to take the free shuttle bus at km184 on the Provincial Highway 9 or at km 187 on the Provincial Highway 8 at Taroko gas station.

C: Visitors taking trains:

Please get off the train at Xincheng train station and then transfer the free shuttle bus to enter Taroko gorge.

 

In coordination with the traffic control measures, Taroko National Park Headquarters will operate free shuttle buses that will transport visitors to Taroko, Buluowan, Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong) and Tianxing and other scenic spots. Visitors are invited to make good use of the service.

 

The free shuttle buses will operate on three routes, blue, red, and green, with Xincheng (Taroko) railway station as the transfer station. As well as operating on the full route from Xincheng (Taroko) station to Tianxiang (blue line), to meet the needs of visitors and reduce waiting time, partial route red and green line services will also be operated; the red line will operate between Xincheng station, Taroko Visitor Center, Buluowan and the green line between Buluowan and Tianxiang. The scenic spots on the routes include Taroko Gas Station, Taroko Visitor Center, Buluowan, Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine Turns, Lushui, Tianxiang and Eternal Spring Shrine. Visitors can get on or off at the various stops along the routes allowing them to easily reach Taroko’s various scenic spots.

 

Free Shuttle Bus Route:

a: Full route : (blue line) Last bus: Xincheng—13:00; Tianxiang—14:30

Buses will set off when they are full, with a service at least every 30 minutes.

During Chinese New Year 2020, in coordination with the operation of a free park shuttle bus service, Taroko National Park Headquarters will provide value-added services; the visitor center and service stations will be closed on January 24 (Chinese New Year’s Eve) but will open earlier January 26-28 (2nd to 4th day of Chinese New Year); Taroko National Park Visitor Center will open at 07:00 am and close at 17:00 during this period; Buluowan Service Station will open at 07:30am and close at 17:00; Tianxiang Service Station, Central Cross-Island Highway History Hall, Lushui Exhibition Hall and Mt. Hehuan Service Station will open at 08:00 and close at 17:00. The park HQ will also mobilize staff and volunteers to provide service to visitors and accompany them during the happy festival holiday.
