Provincial Highway 8 traffic control information for 17-18 September 2019

 

The Fourth Maintenance Office of the Directorate General of Highways, MOTC (Taroko Works Division) is responsible for the maintenance of road safety within Taroko National Park. Due to the landslide at 131 km (near Ci'en) caused the roadblock on 15 September 2019, there will be roadwork between 116 km – 133 km on Provincial Highway 8 for 16 -17 September 2019. The road will be reopened at 17:00 -18:00 on September 17, 2019. Due to the bad eye-sight during the night, the road will be closed after 18:00 at night.

 

To maintain the upper slope stableness, the traffic control will be in effect at 131km on September 18, 2019.   

Traffic Control Time: 8:00 am – 18:00 pm

Passage: Every 2 hourly on the hour for ten minutes. (e.g.: 8:00-8:10, 10:00-10:10, 11:00-11:10...ect.)

Closure for the night time: 18:00 - the second morning 08:00 am

Closure between 116km(Kuanyuan section) and 153km(Luoshao section) Road users are advised to plan your journey ahead to avoid passing this section of the highway during the night.
