Taroko Arch Platform, Lushui, Eternal Spring Shrine Trails temporarily closed for construction (May 10th to June 12th 2019)

Taroko Arch Platform, Lushui, Eternal Spring Shrine Trails temporarily closed for rockfall prevention and repair works from May 10th to June 12th 2019
 


To strengthen tourist safety, the Taroko National Park Headquarters will be conducting rockfall prevention and repair works for Lushui and Eternal Spring (Changchun) Shrine trails and the Taroko East Entrance Observation Platform. Tourists are advised to take notice of these closures and obey the control measures of the closed trail. The construction work is as follows:


A: Taroko East Entrance Arch Observation Platform and Jinwen Bridge Wooden Plank Sidewalk

Repairs on the Taroko East Entrance Arch Observation Platform and Jinwen Bridge Wooden Plank (south section) will take place from May 13th (Monday) to June 12th  (Wednesday), 2019. The mentioned areas will be temporarily closed between the above dates; the rest of the scenic spot will continue to be open. 


B: Lushui Trail

Repairs on the Lushui Trail will take place from May 10th (Friday) to May 24th (Friday), 2019. The trail will be temporarily closed between the above dates. 
 

C: Eternal Spring Shrine (Changchun Shrine)

C-1: Rockfall prevention and construction works at the Eternal Spring Shrine will take place from May 13 (Monday) to August 24 (Saturday), 2019. Traffic control will be implemented at the west trailhead from the Three Holy Buddhas (Mi Tuo Yan): 

Control Period: May 13, 2019 to August 24, 2019

(A) Control Schedule: 08:00am - 14:00pm

Passage time: every 30 minutes for 5 minutes

(B) Control Schedule: 14:00pm - 17:00pm

Passage time: every 20 minutes for 5 minutes

C-2: Rockfall prevention works on the Eternal Spring Shrine trail will take place from May 13 (Monday) to May 17 (Friday), 2019. The purpose of this project is to clear off loose surface rocks residing on the upper cliff section of this trail. The Eternal Spring Shrine trail will be closed between the above dates. The old Central Cross-Island Highway will still be open during the above dates, and visitors will still be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Eternal Spring Shrine (Changchun Shrine) from the Highway. 

 

The Taroko National Park Headquarters has stated that the above rockfall prevention construction and facility repair work for scenic spot and trail are necessary for reinforcing tourists’ safety. The Park HQ strives to minimize the impact of construction work on tourists’ recreational activities and traffic. Please cooperate with the construction personnels’ instructions. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the Park HQ may extend or modify the above construction dates; if so, the Park HQ will announce any changes via the official website.
