Provincial Highway 8 & 14A(Jia) Traffic Control Info for April 2019

 

The Fourth Maintenance Office of the Directorate General of Highways, MOTC (Taroko Maintenance Office) list the following roadworks and traffic control for April 1-30, 2019:

 

1. Provincial Highway 8 at 148km (Hualuxi Section)

Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm

Passage time: Every 2-hour on the hour for 10 minutes (e.g.: 8:00-8:10, 10:00-10:10, 12:00-12:10...)

 

2. Provincial Highway 8 at 119.3 km (Bilu Tunnel Section), 120.1 km (Kuanyuan Section), and 159.7 km (Xibao Section)

Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm

Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (e.g.: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10, ...)

 

3. Provincial Highway 14A(Jia) at 37 km (Mt. Hehuan Service Station Section)

Traffic Control Schedule: 07:30 am - 17:30 pm

Passage time: Every hour on the half hour for 10 minutes (e.g.: 7:30 am -7:40 am, 8:30 am -8:40 am, 9:30 am -9:40 am...)

 

4. Provincial Highway 8 at 156 km (Xibao Section)

Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm

Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions.

 

5. Provincial Highway 8 at 119.3km (Bilu Tunnel Section)

Traffic Control Schedule: 13:00 pm- 16:00 pm, Road Closed for Slope Stabilization Work

Traffic Control schedule: April 2, 2019

 

Note: Traffic control for all the above construction sites do not apply on weekends and public holidays.

 

Visitors who are planning to visit Taroko Gorge (the 19km section between Taroko – Tianxiang) will be not affected by the above list (for both directions). Visitors who are heading to Taichung or Puli, Nantou via Provincial Highway 14A (14 Jia) will be affected by #1-5 of the above list (for both directions).

 

Traffic controls are in effect for the safety of road users as a result of Highway Slope Stabilization Work. Please obey the construction zone traffic control personnels’ indications and pass quickly. Please pay attention to your own safety. In the event of an earthquake or up to a week following heavy rainfall, please do not enter the highway. Please plan ahead before your trip and have a safe and pleasant journey!
