Trail closures and traffic controls applied to Eternal Spring Shrine and Baiyang areas from November 19th, 2018 for rockfall prevention construction work
The controls have been issued for increasing the safety of tourists.
 
To reinforce tourist safety, Taroko National Park Administration will be conducting rockfall prevention construction work from November 19th, 2018 for Eternal Spring Shrine and Baiyang trail. Tourists are advised to take notice of this closure and obey the control measures of the closed trail.
 
A: Eternal Spring(Changchun) Shrine area:
Traffic Control Section: Eternal Spring Trail- the old Highway section 0-30 ~ 100m Rockfall Prevention Construction Work and Railing Repair.
Traffic Control Dates: Nov. 19th – Nov. 22nd, 2018 (Monday - Thursday)
Traffic Control Period: 7:00am - 17:00pm.
(1)Closure for Eternal Spring Shrine scenic spot, date: Nov. 19 – Nov. 20
Visitors and cars are not allowed to enter Eternal Spring Shrine.
(2) Closure for Changchun Bridge – Changguan Temple old highway section for road pavement repair. No cars and pedestrians are allowed to enter the old Provincial Highway 8 section. Traffic Control Dates: Nov. 21th – Nov. 22nd, 2018 The cars and pedestrians are allowed to enter Eternal Spring Shrine. Please return via the same route back to Provincial Highway No. 8.  
 
B: Baiyang trail:
Construction Dates: Nov. 19th – Dec. 6th, 2018 (Monday - Thursday)
Location: Baiyang Trail 1km + 460m sections will undergo construction work
Trail access: Tourists will still have access to the trail from the trailhead to 1km but are advised to return via the same route. Please be very cautious for your safety.
 
The Taroko National Park Management Office has stated that the rockfall prevention construction work is necessary for promoting tourists’ safety. Although the administration attempts to minimize the impact of construction work on tourists’ recreational activities and traffic. Please cooperate with the construction personnel instructions. In the event of inclement weather conditions, extension or change of the construction period is possible. Taroko National Park Management will announce any changes via the official website.
