Rockfall prevention construction work will be conducted at the Shakadang and Swallow Grotto Trail
For the safety of visitors, the trails will be temporarily closed from October 16th to October 26th 2018
 
To reinforce tourist safety, Taroko National Park Administration will be conducting rockfall prevention construction work from October 16, 2018 to October 26, 2018 for the Shakadang and Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) trail. Tourists are advised to take notice of this closure and obey the control measures of the closed trail.

The rockfall prevention construction work will take place from 8:00 am to 17:00 pm on October 16, 2018 to October 26, 2018 the slope at the west of Shakadang Tunnel.
1: Shakdang and Xiaozhuilu Trails: The rockfall prevention construction work will take place from 8:00 am to 17:00 pm on October 16 to October 19, 2018. Visitors heading to Shakadang trail should go through Shakadang Tunnel, or take the Xiaozhuilu Trail via the west ventilation exit to connect the Shakadang Tunnel to Shakadang trail head.
2. Swallow Grotto Trail at 300m – 400m and at 1km Slope rockfall prevention work. The rockfall prevention construction work will take place from 8:00 am to 17:00 pm on October 21 to October 26, 2018. Swallow Grotto(Yanzikou) trail will be temporarily closed.  
 The Taroko National Park Headquarters Management Office has stated that the rockfall prevention construction work is necessary for reinforcing tourists’ safety. The rockfall prevention project is to clear off the loose surface rocks at unstable strata area. Although the administration attempts to minimize the impact of construction work on tourists’ recreational activities and traffic. Please cooperate with the construction personnels’ instructions. In the event of inclement weather conditions, extension or change of the construction period is possible. Taroko National Park Headquarters Management Office will announce any changes via the official website.
