Provincial Highway 8 traffic control information due to road construction from Cimu Bridge to Kuanyuan section for July 1st – July 31, 2018.
Traffic controls are in effect for the safety of road users as a result of Highway Slope Stabilization Work.
1. Provincial Highway 8 at 115.05km (Kuanyuan section) (This traffic control will not be controlled at the same time as 119.11km.)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10,...)
2. Provincial Highway 8 at 119.11km (Kuanyuan section) (This traffic control will not be controlled at the same as time 115.05km.)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10,...)
3. Provincial Highway 8 at 131.25km (Ci’en Section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions.
4. Provincial Highway 8 at 168.2km (Tianxiang Section) Slope Stabilization Work
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10,...)
5. Provincial Highway 8 at 169.7km (Tianxiang Section) Slope Stabilization Work *Evening Traffic Controls
Traffic Control Schedule: 18:00pm - 24:00am
Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions.
6. Provincial Highway 8 at 172.7km (Cimu Bridge Section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10, 10:00-10:10...)
The above construction sites will have NO traffic controls on weekends and public holidays.
Visitors who are planning to visit Taroko gorge (Taroko – Tianxiang 19 kilometer section) will be affected by the above traffic control #5. Those visiting Baiyang trail will be affected by the above traffic controls #4 thru #6.
Visitors who are heading to Taichung or Puli, Nantou via Provincial Highway 14A(Jia) will be affected by the above #1-6 traffic controls. (from both directions)
Please obey the construction zone traffic control personnels’ indications and pass quickly. Please pay attention for own safety. In the event of an earthquake or a week after heavy rains, please do not enter the mountain road. Plan ahead before your trip. Have a safe and pleasant journey!
