Construction Traffic Controls apply to Provincial Highway 8 & 14A

Provincial Highway 8 & 14A traffic control information due to road construction for May 1 – May 31, 2018.
Traffic controls are in effect for the safety of road users as a result of Highway Slope Stabilization Work. The traffic controls do not apply at night.

1. Provincial Highway 8 at 119.1k (Kuanyuan section) and 125k (Bilu Sacred Tree Section) 
Traffic Control Schedule: 07:30am - 17:30pm
Passage time: Half past every hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:30-8:40, 9:30-9:40,...)

2. Provincial Highway 8 at 131.1k (Ci’en Section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: Hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10,...)

3. Provincial Highway 8 at 172.7km (Lushui Section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00pm
Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10, 10:00-10:10...)

4. Provincial Highway 14A at 34.4 km(Xiaofengkou section),
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am-17:00pm
Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions.


The above construction sites will have NO traffic controls on weekends and public holidays.


Visitors who are planning to visit Taroko gorge: Taroko – Tianxiang (19 kilometer section) will be affected by the above traffic controls #1 thru #3.

Visitors who are heading to Taichung or Puli, Nantou will be affected by the above #1-4 traffic controls. (from both directions)

Please obey the construction zone traffic control personnel’s indications and pass quickly. Please pay attention for own safety. In the event of an earthquake or a week after heavy rains, please do not enter the mountain road. Plan ahead before your trip. Have a safe and pleasant journey!

Su-hua Highway(Provincial Highway 9)
Open

1. The Dong'ao Tunnel on Provincial Highway 9 is temporarily closed from April 10th to May 31st from Monday to Friday at 8am to 8:30am for tunnel safety equipment testing (test schedule is as follows) When travelling to and from Su’ao and Hualien, please abide by the on-site traffic control, or alter course to Provincial Highway 9D (Old Su-hua Highway). After the test is completed, the road will immediately be open to traffic. Sorry for the inconvenience.

2. Provincial Highway 9 at 162.1km (Heping Tunnel ) for Tunnel Lighting Repair Construction Work traffic controls during the night 
Passage permitted for one lane traffic at a time only. Passage permitted from one direction at a time only.
Passage Time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions. 
Traffic Control Dates: April 30th to May 4th
Traffic Control Schedule: 18:00pm to 24:00am during the night.
