The 19-kilometer section of road from the Taroko Arch Gate to Tianxiang is the most severely affected and unstable area following the earthquake. This route is the only access from the eastern part to the Hehuan Mountain area. While the road is open, there is still a significant risk of falling rocks. Additionally, the Hehuan Mountain area is currently experiencing the blooming season for the Yushan Rhododendron and Taiwan Alpine Rhododendron. We strongly advise the public to avoid using the Cross-Island Highway from the east to reach the Hehuan Mountain area during this time. Instead, visitors are recommended to travel to the Hehuan Mountain area from the west using Provincial Highway 14A to avoid the danger of falling rocks.
