自民國九十一年一月至十一月期間進行蘇花公路（台九線172K－188K）沿線動物資源調查，哺乳類共紀錄4目4科4種，包括台灣獼猴、台灣野豬、白鼻心及赤腹松鼠，發現地點為清水景觀步道、大清水服務站、和仁下海步道及蘇花古道。 From January to November, 2002, we investigated the animal resources between 172K-188K along Su-hua Highway ( Highway No. 9) and we recorded 4 species of mammals belonging to 4 families in 4 orders, including Formosan Rock-monkey, Formosan Wild Boar, Formosan Gem-Faced Civit, and Formosan Red-bellied Tree Squirrel. The places they were found are Chin-Shui Scenic Trail, Da Chin-Shui Service Center, Hojen Down-to-the-Beach Trail, and Su-hua Old Trail. 鳥類共紀錄8目25科51種，全區可見共計20種，包含3種特有種－黃山雀、烏頭翁、台灣紫嘯鶇，22種特有亞種。崇德一帶41種，常見為洋燕、烏頭翁、黑枕藍鶲、綠繡眼、麻雀等；清水一帶34種，常見有大冠鷲、洋燕、五色鳥、紅嘴黑鵯、烏頭翁、藍磯鶇、白鶺鴒；和仁一帶21種，常見為五色鳥、白鶺鴒等。 As for birds, we recorded 51 species, 25 families in 8 orders. Among these, 20 species can be found in the whole region, including 3 endemic species—Parus holsti (Taiwan Tit), Pycnonotus taivanus (Formosan Bulbul), and Myiophoneus insularis (Taiwan Whistling Trush)—and 22 endemic subspecies. There are 41 species of birds recorded in Chungte, where Pacific Swallow, Formosan Bulbul, Black-naped Blue Monarch, Japanese White-eye and Sparrow are the most common ones. There are 34 species found in Chin-shui, and Crested Serpent Eagle, Pacific Swallow, Muller’s Barbet, Black Bulbul, Formosan Bulbul, Blue Rock Thrush, and White Wagtail are quite common there. In Hojen, the most common ones are Muller’s Barbet and White Wagtail. 兩棲爬蟲類共紀錄8科13種，包含4種特有種，3種保育類，莫氏樹蛙、日本樹蛙、艾氏樹蛙、斯文豪氏赤蛙、斯文豪氏攀蜥較常見，日本樹蛙數量最多。重要發現地點為小清水溪、大清水溪、清水景觀步道、石崆仔溪。 As for reptiles and amphibians faunas, 13 species in 8 families are recorded, including 3 protected species. Rhacophorus moltrechti (Moltrecht’s treefrog), Buergeria japonica (Japanese Buerger’s Frog), Chirixalus eiffingeri (Eiffinger’s treefrog), Rana swinhoana (Swinhoe’s Frog) and Swinhoe’s Tree-climbing Lizard are the common-seen species. The number of Japanese Buerger’s Frog is the largest among the above frogs. Shiow Chin-Shui Creek, Da Chin-Shui Creek, Chin-Shui Scenic Trail and石崆仔Creek are the main places to find the frogs and the lizard. 昆蟲類紀錄約11目47科162種，全區均可見共18種，崇德區85種，清水區112種，和仁區40種。 Insects are recorded about 162 species, 47 families in 11 orders. Among them, 18 species are seen in the whole region. 85 species are found in Chungte Area; 112 species in Chin-shui Area, and 40 species in Hojen Area. 其他類共發現15種，崇德區7種，清水區12種，和仁區4種。 There are 15 other species. 7 species are found in Chungte Area; 12 species in Chin-shui Area, and 4 species in Hojen Area.
