Xiaofengkou in the Hehuan Mountains opened on November 28, 2002 to provide tourists with information and multimedia presentations. It is located on Provincial Highway 14A at 36.6k, positioned approximately 37km from Wushe and 81km from Taroko National Park entrance. The station is responsible for the management and maintenance of the facilities spanning from Xinbaiyang to Kunyang and Zhiyuanzhuang. It provides tourists with information services and is equipped with a parking lot.

Bus:No direct public bus can reach to Xiaofengkou (3002 m, Mt. Hehuan Service Station).
From East Taiwan: From Hualien Train Station or Taroko National Park Headquarters take Hualien Bus #1141(only serviced once daily) to Lishan alight at Dayuling station. From Dayuling to Xiaofengkou walking times requires about 1.5 hour / 5.1 km. Hitchhike is not uncommon.
Driving:From East Taiwan: To get to Xiaofengkou (Mt. Hehuan Service Station 3002 m), drive westbound on Provincial Highway 8 from Hualien to Taroko, Dayuling and transfer to Provincial Highway 14A(14Jia) for Xiaofengkou (Mt. Hehuan Service Station 3002 m). It takes about 2 hr and 45 minutes - 3 hours driving.
