Following the significant damage inflicted by typhoons Doksuri, Khanun, and Gaemi, along with the April 3, 2024, Hualien earthquake, the western segment of the Nenggao Cross-Mountain National Trail has been ordered closed until December 31, 2024, by the Nantou Branch Office of the Forestry Bureau and the Conservation Natural Areas Conservation Commission. In accordance with this closure, entry permits for Qilai South Peak will no longer be issued. We appreciate your understanding of this situation.

At the 5.7 km mark of the Qilai Trail, the fork leading to the main and north peaks of Qilai, it is only permitted to take the right path towards the main peak of Qilai, which then allows access to the main ridge, and subsequently to the main peak, north peak, and the eastern ridge of Qilai.
