Provincial Highway 8 & 9 Info for January 20 – January 29, 2023 during Chinese Lunar New Year holidays

Road partially open/ Road closed night time (120.6 km - 114.6 km) Guanyuan disaster section at 117.4 km highway marker on Provincial Highway 8

 

Originally four passage times daily, the traffic control for emergency repair work, such as slope stabilization protection and roadbed reinforcement on Provincial Highway 8 at 117 km + 400 m highway marker (Guanyuan Road Section), has changed to open for traffic from 7 am to 5 pm. Please note that after 5 pm, the road section will close until the following morning at 7 am during the Chinese Lunar New Year Holidays (January 20-29, 2023).

Road Closed Control Period: January 20 – January 29, 2023

Passage time: 7 am – 17 pm (day time)

Road closed time: 17 pm – the second morning 5 am (night time)

Please plan your trip accordingly.

 

The Directorate General of Highways urges drivers that, after a week after earthquake or heavy rain, roads in mountain areas are prone to rockfall and that it is advisable to avoid driving on these roads. Provincial Highway 9 information for January 20-31, 2023

Road open/

The Provincial Highway 9 at 159 km + 300 m (Daqingshui Tunnel Section) opened at 17 pm on January 15, 2023 after the disaster has been actively repair for several days.

Traffic will not be controlled after 17:00 from January 18, 2023 - January 31, 2023.
