Chinese New Year Holiday, February 2-4, 2022 (2nd to 4th day of Chinese New Year) - Taroko National Park Visitor Center, Buluowan, and Tianxiang Service Stations Will Open Early
Traffic control will be implemented from the Taroko park entrance - Tianxiang section of Central Cross-Island Highway (Provincial Highway 8) during the Chinese New Year holiday from February 2th - 4th, 2022. Taroko National Park Headquarters will provide free shuttle buses for visitors to tour the park. Taroko National Park HQ Visitor Center, Buluowan, and Tianxiang Service Stations and Tianxiang Central Cross-Island Highway History Hall will open earlier to serve early arrivals. Online reservations will be temporarily suspended for Buluowan Buluowan Suspension Bridge from February 2-4, 2022, and changed to on-site queuing for admission.
Taroko Visitor Center will open at 7 am, while Buluowan Service Station will open at 7:30 am, and Tianxiang Service Station and Tianxiang Central Cross-Island Highway History Hall will open at 8 am. Visitors who enter the Park earlier by the shuttle bus can enter the visitor center and service stations. The Buluowan Buluowan Suspension Bridge will also be open earlier, starting at 7:30 am. When the capacity of the Buluowan Suspension Bridge reaches 260 people, the site is restricted to single entry and exit of visitors. We hope that all visitors to Bulowan will have the opportunity to visit the Buluowan Suspension Bridge.
Taroko N. P. Headquarters stated that Taroko free shuttle buses are partially adjusted from previous years during the Chinese New Year holiday. The free shuttle bus starts at Taroko National Park Headquarters Visitor Center. Please take the paid bus from Xincheng (Taroko) TRA Station to the Taroko Visitor Center and transfer to the free shuttle bus. The bus companies will cooperate with the additional scheduled services to transport tourists from Xincheng Railway Station to Taroko. The traffic control on the Taroko-Tianxiang section of the Central Cross-Island Highway is from 7 am to 3 pm. In order to facilitate traversing east and west on Provincial Highway 8, the passage of vehicles will be permitted every 2 hours for 10 minutes. At the control point in front of the Fushi Village Highway Bureau office (Provincial Highway 8 - 185.4 km), cars can park in the outer lane and wait for the opening of the traffic control. As for the tourists who enter the Park to visit various scenic spots, please take the free shuttle bus. Traffic controls of Class A (40-sitter) and B (Midsize) coaches (tourist buses) and business running cars are restrained by total volume. During the traffic control period, the Midsize or 40-seater buses are permitted access for 40 buses at a time. Please go to Xincheng (Taroko) Railway Station to apply with the Taroko National Park on-site handling staff to get an entry permit card. Use any form of identification to exchange for a park entry permit.
Taroko N. P. HQ’s free shuttle buses will depart from the Taroko Visitor Center and to the final stop at Tianxiang. There are 1. Blueline (the Full Route from Taroko Visitor Center to Tianxiang, no stop at Buluowan); 2. Redline (Taroko Visitor Center - Buluowan Partial Line); 3. Green Line (Buluowan - Tianxiang Partial Line) and three routes in the Park. The public can take free shuttle buses according to their needs and enjoy the trails and various scenic spots. Due to the narrow width of some sections of the Central Cross-Island Highway (Provincial Highway 8) and the risk of rockfall, Taroko National Park Headquarters reminded the public that visitors do not park arbitrarily and avoid traffic congestion and affect driving safety. And the police will also divert traffic along the Central Cross-Island Highway.
