Traffic controls are in effect for the safety of road users as a result of Highway Slope Stabilization Work
The traffic controls do not apply at night.
1. Provincial Highway 8 at 119.2k (Kuanyuan section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 07:30am - 17:30
Passage time: Half past every hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:30-8:40, 9:30-9:40,...)
2. Provincial Highway 8 at 125k (Bilu Sacred Tree Section), 131.1k (Ci’en Section), 159.8k (Xibao Section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00am - 17:00
Passage time: hourly on the hour for 10 minutes (eg: 8:00-8:10, 9:00-9:10,...)
3. Provincial Highway 8 at 139.7k (Xinbaiyang Seciton)
Traffic Control Schedule: 07:30am - 17:30
Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions
4. Provincial Highway 8 at 166.7k(Guyuan Section)
Traffic Control Schedule: 07:30am - 17:30

6. Provincial Highway 8 at 173.5 km(Jiouqudong tunnel section),
Traffic Control Schedule: 08:00-17:00,
Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions. Road users are advised to follow the on-site traffic control personnel’s direction to pass through the construction zone.
The above construction sites will have NO traffic controls on weekends and public holidays.
Visitors who are planning to visit Taroko gorge (Taroko – Tianxiang 19 kilometer section) will be affected by the above traffic controls #5 and #6.
Visitors who are heading to Taichung or Puli, Nantou will be affected by the above #1-6 traffic controls. (east to west or west to east)
Please obey the construction zone traffic control personnel’s indications and pass quickly. Please pay attention for own safety. In the event of an earthquake or a week after heavy rains, please do not enter the mountain road. Plan ahead before your trip. Do have a nice and safe journey!

To reinforce the safety of road users, the construction traffic control is in effect for highway construction work.

  1. Provincial Highway 9 at 144.1k (Guanyin Section) for Highway Slope Stabilization/  Work traffic control schedule: 08:30am - 17:30 

Passage time: Not predetermined - accessibility depends on construction conditions Please follow the on-site personnel’s direction to pass the construction zone. Control period: March 7, 2018– March 31, 2018  
NO traffic controls for weekends and public holidays. The traffic controls do not apply at night.

  1. Provincial Highway 9 at 141.4k (Wuta Section) for Highway Tunnel construction work traffic control. Control period: March 14 , 2018 – April 2, 2018. All day traffic control by traffic lights. Passage permitted for one lane traffic at a time only. Passage time: Obey traffic light, passage permitted from one direction at a time only(including weekends and public holidays).
Notice from Directorate General of Highways: Construction repair including at 11.6km on the Provincial Highway 9D, at 144.1km and 164.7km on the Provincial Highway 9. The passage time is randomly.
