Chinese Near Year Holiday Highway Traffic Control Cancelled- Visitor Centers will open early

Due to Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake on February 6, 2018 in Taroko, Chinese Near Year Holiday Highway Traffic Control Cancelled- Taroko Visitor Centers will open early to reinforce tourist services
 

After Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake hit at 23:50 on February 6, 2018. There were about 16 aftershocks more than Magnitude 4.0, and some smaller aftershocks announced by Central Weather Bureau. The Central Weather Bureau stated that there will be more aftershocks in two or three weeks. To considerate Provincial Highway 8 is one of the main roads in Hualien to connect other cities. The road traffic controls and offering shuttle buses for February 17- February 19, 2018 have been cancelled instead of road traffic guidance(increasing traffic flows). No tourist shuttle buses will be offered instead of having traffic guidance(increasing traffic flows).

 
After this two measurements decision has been made. Taroko National Park Headquarters Visitor Center and all Service Stations will open early from February 16 – February 20 (first – fifth day of CNY) except for Chinese New Year’s Eve Day closed on February 15. 
Taroko Visitor Center opens early at 7:00am
Buluowan Service Station opens early at 07:30am 
Tianxiang Service Station, Lushui Exhibition Hall, Tianxiang- Central Cross-Island Highway Exhibition Hall, and Mt. Hehuan Service Station open early at 08:00am. 
There will be a Tribal Musical Festival from February 20 – February 24, 2018 14:30 – 15:10 invited Taroko local indigenous- Truku tribe group to perform traditional dancing and musical instrument. 
We will be held “Taroko Chinese New Year Creative Fairs to display Truku indigenous cloth weaving, rattan basket weaving, traditional tribal foods and local specialties from February 20 – February 24 from 09:00am – 16:30pm.
For the Chinese New Year public holidays, Taroko National Park will be mobilize staff and volunteers to provide tourist services.

Taroko Chinese New Year Tribal Music Festival

  1. Service: Truku tribe dance groups will perform traditional tribal song and dance 
  2. Time: 14:30 - 15:10, February 20 – February 24, 2018 (5th – 9th day of Chinese New Year)
