The Visitor Center is located to the right of the entrance of Central Cross-Island Highway. It's red brick building is very noticeable. There are the upper and lower halls in the Visitor Center. The center of the building is occupied with key exhibition areas, such as Our Environment Hall, Humans in the Environment, Environmental Education Hall and Special Exhibition Room, providing educational and travel related information. Visitors are welcomed and recommended to come to the Visitor Center to get useful information before leaving to explore the beauty of the park The sales booth on the first floor not only sells food and drinks. Various books can be bought (on the second floor) about the national park and related souvenirs. If visiting as a group, the Briefing Room in the Visitor Center can be booked in advance for a multi-media display. Remember, the Taroko Headquarters visitor center closes on the second Mondays of each month. The opening hour is from 8:45am to 16:45 pm.
